Could your company be the sign supplier of the year?

The Sign Industry Awards will this year take place on the middle evening of The Sign Show , 3rd September, in the E-on Suite at the Ricoh Arena and will include several new categories.

The first of these is the Sign Supplier of the Year Award, which will be sponsored by Ashleigh Signs and is one of a total of 14 awards.

“We wanted to have an award which recognises the work of the hundreds of businesses who supply the sign industry with materials, equipment and services,” explained SIA organiser Ray Stewart. This award is, however, different from all the other awards because, instead of the winner being decided by a panel of judges, signmakers themselves will be given the opportunity to choose the winner.

All the nominated businesses will be featured on the SIA website (www.signindustryawards.co.uk) together with a brief resume of the reasons for each nomination. Signmakers can then make their selection by simply providing an email address and ticking a box online.

“Knowing how reticent signmakers can be about taking part in this type of thing, we have given them an extra incentive,” continued Ray Stewart. “Everyone who votes will automatically go into a draw for a £250.00 cash prize.”

However, the first stage is to get nominated. “We are happy to receive sensible nominations from anybody,” confirms Stewart. “Whether the nomination comes from the company itself (or their PR people) or a satisfied customer doesn’t really matter because, in the end, it will be signmakers who decide the winner,”

Submitting nominations couldn’t be easier. Simply go to the SIA website and fill out the online form.Other awards that will be up for grabs this year include: Small Signmaker (for businesses with turnover of £1 million or less); Roll Out Programme; Sign Business of the Year; Retail Signage; Vehicle Graphics; llluminated Signage; Craftsman Award; Architectural Sign; Wayfinding Scheme; Interior Signage and International Sign of the Year.

The final, and most coveted, award is the Sign of the Year, sponsored by Perspex Distribution. The competition is now open for entries and full details and advice on how to enter can be found on the dedicated website, www.signindustryawards.co.uk
